One of the most common questions new carriers have is about reciprocity. Your CCW permit is valid in your home state and, most likely, many other states as well. The big question is this: do you need permits from other states? The answer is that it depends.
If you’ve never left your home state and never plan on leaving, chances are you won’t have to worry about reciprocity and obtaining a CCW permit from a state not covered by reciprocity. If there is any chance that you may visit a state that does not have reciprocity with yours, you’ll want to seriously consider getting a permit from that state or a permit that that state honors through reciprocity.
