Channel 3, not exactly known for their impartial, honest, and correct information, recently posted a story on their website with the title ‘How Does Wisconsin’s Castle Doctrine Work’ and then proceeded to get it all wrong. They’re giving bad Castle Doctrine info.
The story is in response to a deadly force incident in Madison in which, according to what we know so far, a masked intruder broke in and was shot by the homeowner. It’s important to understand, though, that that’s all we know so far. There will hopefully be more info available in the coming days and weeks that will shed more light on the situation. It’s also important to understand that this case will need to be tried in a court of law, not the court of public opinion. We, the public, won’t be privvy to all of the details. That’s precisely why we have courts. But I digress.
